Below is a list of services Pacifica Pet Care offers. We cater to special circumstances and welcome unusual requests. Prior to the start of your service, we request a free 30-minute Meet & Greet with you and your pet where we can get to know each other and discuss his/her special needs. To schedule your initial Meet & Greet, or if you have any questions, please contact us.
In-Home Dog Care
- Guests are chosen for compatibility with each other and must be extremely well behaved
- A thorough evaluation will be done prior to accepting new clients
Throughout the day, our overnight guests accompany us on group walks for exercise, take leash walks around our neighborhood for potty purposes, and relax with us at home in the evening. Our large back yard includes a fenced dog run in which the pups are welcome to play or lounge (with supervision) on sunny days, and is fully lined with clean woodchips to keep paws from getting muddy after it rains.
Indoors, the pups enjoy a large, carpeted room dedicated to all things doggy, which opens directly into our main living area and is full of comfy beds, toys and blanket-covered dens for our guests to lounge in when we are home. There is plenty of room to wrestle, play tug, or just wander around. We do not crate dogs unless specifically requested (or when medically necessary). The dogs sleep pack-style, often using one another as pillows, or they can choose a quiet corner to call their own. In order to ensure the safety and comfort of our guests, this service is limited to very well-behaved, well-socialized dogs and preference will be given to our regular dog walking and daycare clients. Please reserve a space early, especially during Holidays.
Dog Walking
- 90-120 minute group runs (max 8 dogs/group)

Our small group dog “walks” are high-energy, adventure-filled treks. We hike in the hills and play on the beaches of Pacifica, Montara and the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. Your dog(s) will be placed by personality and activity preference with 4-8 sociable, like-minded companions for an active, stimulating adventure. For maximum fun and the safety of our clients we refrain from walking more than 8 dogs per group. We run together, swim, chase tennis balls, fetch sticks, play hide & seek, go rock climbing, explore the local tidal pools… Every day is truly an adventure. Our doggy clients make new friends, play hard, and come home tired and happy!
For older dogs, or dogs recovering from injuries, we can provide gentle, private walks in safe, interesting locations.
Private walks, dog socialization skills and basic puppy training are billed per hour. Please inquire as to availability.
Pet Sitting Services ~ Dogs
- Includes 3 visits per day unless otherwise requested
- 1 visit consists of a long group walk for exercise and socialization
- Additional dogs/pets in household receive a discount
In-home, frequent daily visits each day that you are away. Your companions will get an early morning potty break, walk and breakfast (30-45 min, between 6-9 am), a mid-day long outing (several hours, between 12-6 pm), dinner, and a bedtime walk (30-45 min, 8-10 pm). At your initial Meet & Greet, let us know what schedule your companion is accustomed to regarding meals, walks, bedtimes, etc, and we will follow that schedule as closely as possible.
Overnight Stays with your pets in your home are available on a first-come-first-served basis. Please inquire about specific dates as this service is limited. Our services are customized to the best of our ability to your pets' individual needs and preferences.
Pet Sitting Services ~ Cats
- Variable length visits available, fees are arranged per visit

Cat sitting first involves lots of love and attention for your kitties. Depending on your cat’s personality, we will play with toys, provide lap time and snuggles, have a good brushing, or just roll around on the floor together. Anything your kitty needs to feel loved and less lonely in your absence.
We leave when your kitty is happy and satisfied by the attention, not before. Visits will last a little longer than usual at no additional charge if your kitty needs extra love and attention on any particular occasion. Additionally, at each visit we perform all associated chores – provide meals and fresh water, give medications, clean litter boxes, take care of messes, water plants, bring in the mail, vacuum, etc.
Exotic & Small Animal Services
- Fees vary according to service request
We are happy to care for any and all pets. Give us your most specific instructions and we will follow them to the letter. We will play with your ferret or rabbit, lightly mist your reptiles, give your bird a cuttlebone, or sprinkle a precise amount of food in your aquarium. Just tell us what your pets need each day and we will make sure they are happy and well taken care of in your absence.
